چکیده

Recent work has presented theoretical frameworks that rigorously model the behavior of path-vector protocols [6, 7, 13], which are primarily used for inter-domain routing on the Internet. We expand the scope of these to include protocols with route-selection procedures that cannot be captured by a per-node linear order on paths; in particular, our generalized model captures the use of commonly deployed route attributes such as MED, which is used to fine-tune routing between networks that share more than one interconnection. Using the model, we give the best-known sufficient condition guaranteeing robust convergence of path-vector protocols in the generalized case and discuss its applications to protocol design.

Multipath Node-Disjoint Routing with Backup List Based on the AODV Protocol

In recent years, routing has been the most focused area in ad hoc networks research. On-demand routing in particular, is widely developed in bandwidth constrained mobile wireless ad hoc networks because of its effectiveness and efficiency. Most proposed on-demand routing protocols are built and relied on single route for each data session. Whenever there is a link disconnection on the active ro...

MESH: multi-eye spiral-hopping routing protocol in a wireless ad hoc network

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a characterized by multi-hop wireless links, absence of any cellular infrastructure, and frequent host mobility. Existing MANET routing protocols are divided into location-aware and non-locationaware routing protocols. In a location-aware routing protocol, location information can be exploited to facilitate routing. Our protocol, namely multi-eye spiral-hoppin...

Performance Comparison of Two On-demand Multi Path Routing Protocols for Ad Hoc Networks

In recent years, on-demand routing protocols have attained more attention in mobile ad hoc networks as compared to other routing schemes due to their abilities and efficiency. There exist many ondemand routing protocols for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETS). Most of the protocols, however, use a single route and do not utilize multiple alternate paths. Multi path routing allows the establishment ...

Performance Comparison Study of Multicast Routing Protocols for Mobile Ad hoc Networks under Default Flooding and Density and Mobility Aware Energy-Efficient (DMEF) Broadcast Strategies

Recently, we had proposed a novel network density and mobility aware energy-efficient broadcast route discovery strategy (called DMEF) to discover stable routes in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). DMEF works by letting each node to dynamically choose its own broadcast transmission range for the route discovery messages depending on the perceived number of neighbour nodes in its default maximum ...

Reducing Latency and Overhead of Route Repair with Controlled Flooding

Ad hoc routing protocols that use broadcast for route discovery may be inefficient if the path between any source-destination pair is frequently broken. We propose and evaluate a simple mechanism that allows fast route repair in on demand ad hoc routing protocols. We apply our proposal to the Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol. The proposed system is based on the Controlle...
